Southern Baptist President's Surgery Went 'Great', Says Family

johnny-hunt.jpgSouthern Baptist President Johnny Hunt's surgery to remove a cancerous gland went "great," his family said.

In multiple tweet updates after Thursday's surgery, Hunt's daughter Hollie described the surgery process in positive messages.

"Surgeon just called mom. Surgery is over. Things went well. We should be able to see him soon," read one of Hollie's tweets using Johnny Hunt's twitter account.

In another short message, she uploaded a photo of the family with the surgeon and wrote, "Praise the Lord. Things went great..."

Hunt went into surgery Thursday morning to remove a cancerous prostate. The Southern Baptist leader announced in November that he has prostate cancer and was expecting to have surgery in January.
